How to sell an artwork privately

To sell an artwork privately you need qualified buyers to see it, without listing it publicly and anchoring the price. Finarta Art Club puts your work in front of vetted collectors actively looking for what you own, through a network of 450+ top-tier galleries in 30 countries.

The process

You submit the work, artist, dimensions, provenance, condition, and your expectation. Finarta reviews it and matches it against members’ active requests and collectors in the network. Interested buyers emerge; identity stays anonymous on both sides until the end. Finarta assists through negotiation, authentication, payment and shipment, and the seller’s fee is 3%.

Compared with the alternatives

An auction house takes roughly 10–25% in seller’s commission, publishes your name and the result, and exposes you to the risk of a buy-in if bidding stops low. A dealer takes a similar margin, often without a deadline. A private sale through Finarta keeps a major work confidential, prices it directly with a qualified buyer, and moves without a season calendar.

Who sells this way

Private selling suits owners of museum-quality works who value discretion: estate and succession sales, collection restructuring, or single blue-chip pieces. Works handled typically range from €100,000 to several million euros, with an average transaction of about €500,000.

Membership of the club, required to sell, is €1,000 for twelve months, and applications are vetted for seriousness.
