Private art sales, both directions
Acquisition and discreet sale of major works
Most important works of modern and contemporary art are never listed. They move through relationships — galleries, advisors, collectors who know each other. Finarta is that layer, organised: a private network of 460+ vetted galleries and art professionals across 30 countries, 90 cities and 4 continents, where a serious collector can buy or sell without ever appearing on the public market.
Buying art privately through Finarta
As a member, you post what you are looking for — an artist, a period, a specific work — without giving your name. Your request travels through the network: the galleries, and the private collectors behind them, whose works are rarely or never visible on the public market. Proposals come back to you. On average, a request receives 2.5 relevant works.
Your identity stays withheld until the end of the transaction — buying or selling. Nothing is listed, nothing is consigned, and nothing about your search appears anywhere public.
Selling a major work discreetly
The same network works in the other direction. A work you own can be matched, quietly, to collectors who are actively looking for exactly that artist or period — through professionals who already know both sides. No public offering, no burnt-market risk if a work does not move, no press. Transaction fees are 3% on the seller and 3% on the buyer, agreed in the open before anything proceeds.
Why a network instead of an auction
An auction sets the calendar, the estimate and the story around your work — publicly. A private sale lets the right buyer appear first. How off-market private sales actually work explains the mechanics in detail: the sequence, the checks, and where a network fits next to an advisor or an auction house.
